About

The aims of the Space Industry Association of Australia (SIAA) are:
  • to promote and assist the development of a viable and self-sustaining commercial space sector in Australia that includes corporations, small and medium enterprises and non-for-profit organisations, as an essential component of Australia's involvement in space.
  • to ensure that the interests of the commercial space sector are taken into account by governments (Commonwealth, State and Territory) as they formulate and implement space policies and programs in pursuit of international, national and regional interests.
  • to propose, support or oppose legislative or other policy initiatives which may affect the development or interests of the commercial space sector in Australia.
  • to collect and publish information relating to space commerce in Australia and internationally.
  • to conduct events and activities and do all such things as may be conducive or incidental to the attainment of the above objects, including advocacy and support for initiatives in the areas of space policy discussion, space science, space education and broader outreach activities to the wider community.
This blog is provided in support of those objectives, with the purpose of providing a useful and informative portal for the growing space-related community in Australia, including for the dissemination of news items of particular interest. More information on SIAA is available at:
